TREY ELIZONDO

I am Trey Elizondo and I am a Agriculture Communications and Journalism major from Yoakum, Texas. I am a part of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2019 and working on the speaking team for the campaign. During my time at Texas A&M I have been involved in Saddle and Sirloin, John 15 Freshman Leadership Organization, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church CONNECT Retreat Staff. However, I have just returned back to campus as I spent the last year traveling the United States as the 2016-2017 National FFA Western Region Vice President. During my time in this role represented the largest youth led organization in the world of over 652,000 members and 1 million agriculture education students while traveling to to 33 states, and Japan, giving over 50 keynote addresses, 100 leadership development workshops, and executing 50 business and congressional visits. Though this past year serving the FFA was incredible, I was more than excited to return back to my ‘home’ in Aggieland.
The feeling of ‘home’ is something I believe every college student is searching to find and is something I have found here at Texas A&M. During my time attending Texas A&M I have never felt so open to nothing but my authentic self and so motivated to be the best version of myself I can be. This same feeling of ‘home’ is something I have felt every time I am around Ben Johnson. From the time I met him he has made me feel so comfortable to be myself and supported me to reach my highest potential. I am now excited to support my friend, Ben Johnson, on his campaign for Student Body President because I know with him Texas A&M will continue to be one of the most prestigious learning institutions in the world, but also become a ‘home’ to all he encounters and all who walk across this great campus.
